Lamons Defender FS

Offering dependable and robust flange isolation and fire-safe protection for pipeline industries.

Lamons® Defender FS® isolation gaskets have been engineered for fire safe, extreme, high reliability sealing and electrical isolation in critical service applications. They are designed to withstand the rigorous API standard 6FB (Third Edition) test and therefore provide a solution for those who want to electrically isolate their flange and protect against fire in and around the flange. This flange isolation gasket also works very well in applications where highly volatile media is involved. Isolation sleeves and washers are also provided.

Features & Benefits

The Defender FS isolation kit is a true API 6FB-certified solution because it was tested with sleeves and mica-based washers that can withstand temperatures upwards of 2,000OF (1,093OC) without failing, making it among the safest options on the market; other gasket manufacturers have used metal washers without isolation sleeves in order to pass certification.

Using mica washers instead of coated washers means there is no chance of failure due to microscopic tears in the bubbles produced in the coating process, eliminating any chance of moisture corroding the metal washer underneath and causing a short.

Using no coated parts provides a far more robust gasketing solution, which will mean fewer reinstallations, less downtime due to shorting from coatings failure, and a reduction in safety issues for field personnel.
